Last Monday we launched our campaign to feature a meat-free recipe once a week on our Twitter page. Here at Grub Street we understand the importance of diversity in cooking, and hope to include all types of diets, intolerances, allergies, and cuisines in our social media! We also champion healthy eating and the importance of sustainability, which is why we are proud to have published so many vegetarian and vegan cookery books!
We also hope to abolish the preconception that by being “meat-free”, meals are less enjoyable and fulfilling – there are thousands of dishes that don’t require meat to make them tasty and we hope to share some of our best ones with you! Gone are the days when a vegetarian went out for a meal and could only order a salad for supper!
So we kicked off with a Pad Thai recipe from the aptly named “Vegan Bible” – a fantastic book by Marie Laforêt that contains over 500 recipes and the number 1 best-selling vegan cookbook in France ever! This is an excellent guidebook for anyone who is thinking about taking on a vegan diet and wants guidance on the tastiest and easiest meals you can make!
We will be uploading a new recipe to our Twitter page every Monday at 11:30, under the hashtag #MeatFreeMondays, and will also be featuring an image of the recipe or the book cover on our Instagram page at the same time!
The recipes will all be taken from our extensive collection of vegan/vegetarian cookery books, some of which are featured here, and are available to buy either over the phone or through the website:
If you have any queries about any of the recipes or books, please do not hesitate to get in touch – we endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible!
We hope that you will join us in our celebration of meat-free cooking, and even if it’s something you have never considered before, we hope to include at least one recipe that persuades you to try it for the first time!
