Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show: 23rd-24th September 2017

As the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show weekend approaches, we are starting to get extremely excited about the fantastic events that are guaranteed to blow you away!

Our authors will of course be there, and we are happy to announce that we are launching our newest book ‘Javelin Boys’ at this event, with author Steve Bond. Accompanying Steve across both days will be several veterans, who will be there to sign copies. The following veterans will be in attendance on the Saturday: John Augoustis, Peter Day, Mel Evans, Eric Marsh and Alan Mudge.  The following veterans will be attending on Sunday:  Jack Broughton, Brian Bullock, Ed Durham, Bryan Elliott, Malcolm Elliott and Bill Hustwayte. (Peter and Mel will be attending across both days!)

Guy Ellis, author of ‘WK275’ will be attending on the Saturday to launch this highly anticipated book, as well as Tim Wood, owner of the WK275!

Ian Hall, author of recently published ‘Fast Jets and Other Beasts’ will also be there on both days to sign copies and chat with attendees.

Obviously the highlight of the weekend will be watching a magnificent Spitfire put on a display over the skies of IWM Duxford, where history was made during the Second World War. But there will also be the opportunity to take a virtual reality Spitfire flight, in a brand new experience for IWM Duxford!

There will also be music and dancing provided by Bluebird Belles, Debonaires and Jitter Bug Jive. As well as an original and imaginative storytelling experience by none other than a spitfire sculpture! The 100 points of light that are dotted over the surface transmit voices, signals and music that represent hundreds of memories. You’ll never want to read a bedtime story in the same way again!

There will also be tank rides available, as well as loads of other fun things for the whole family to get involved in.

It looks like it’s going to be a real gem of a weekend and is sure to be one to remember! You can find out more information on the event and can book tickets by following the link below to the IWM Duxford website:
