V-Bombers Book Launch at London Southend Airport
On Saturday 17th February to mark the publication of Dr Tony Redding’s latest book, V-Bombers: Britain’s Nuclear Frontline in the Cold War, you are cordially invited to meet the author and V-Force veterans at an event hosted by the Vulcan Restoration Trust.
The day will run as follows:
Doors open: 10:00 a.m.
Welcome and introduction: 11:00 a.m.
Briefing by Dr Tony Redding: 11:15 a.m.
Q&A with Dr Redding and V-Force veterans: 11:30 a.m.
Book signing and engineering tours from 12:00 p.m.
Finish: 2:00 p.m.
The event will be held in Hangars 5 and 6, where you will have the opportunity to view the ‘Southend Vulcan’ (Avro Vulcan B.2 XL426) alongside a deactivated WE.177B hydrogen bomb. You can also find out more about the work of the Vulcan Restoration Trust including their programme of public events for the summer.
