Anthony Rose is the wine correspondent of the Independent and contributes to various other publications, notably Decanter Magazine, The World of Fine Wine, Revue du Vin de France China and Fine Drink, China. He is co-chair of the Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards Australia panel and has won several awards for wine writing. This year he has published The Tapas Bar Guide (Grub Street, £10.99), co-authored with Isabel Cuevas. He spends a lot of his time nosing his way around the world in wine competitions in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, California, Japan and France. He is obsessed with Japanese sake and is now co-Chairman of the Sake International Challenge in Tokyo. He also teaches sake to restaurant staff and consumers.
